Is it safe to reopen universities and colleges?

01 September 2020 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join Jo Grady, UCU general secretary; Larissa Kennedy, NUS president; Janet Farrar UCU president-elect; and Professor Elizabeth Stokoe and Professor Ann Phoenix, from the Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies.

As the new academic year approaches there is an increasing focus on how campuses and colleges within the UK will manage the start of teaching. In the next few weeks a mass movement of over a million students, many of them first year undergraduates, will begin. Many thousands will be relocating from one part of the UK and beyond to their place of study and FE campuses need to look at how they reopen safely. It is now timely that UCU sets out our position – join us to discuss UCU’s latest guidance and the Independent Sage report.
