Fighting job cuts & structural racism

24 August 2020 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, the economic impact of Covid-19 is now being felt across HE, FE and adult and prison education with a significant number of institutions seeking to make posts redundant or otherwise cut staff costs. These moves will have an even greater impact on black members, who are disproportionately employed on precarious contracts and as such bear the brunt of job cuts and attacks on pay and conditions.

Join us for an informative session, with input from black members across FE, HE and prison education, to discuss how cuts are affecting black workers, students and communities, the intersectional implications and how we can fight against their damaging impact.
